Days Off

First day of an extra-special, extra-long weekend today. Love the days off. Old friend Ivy is in town and staying with us for a couple weeks, so it was nice to spend the morning out and about with her.

We hit Granville Island, which although wonderful, is usually a madhouse -- with more shoppers and tourists per square inch than this particular medieval morality star can stand. Today, however, was a joy. No big lines; no crowds; no snappish merchants. Joyous.

Oh, and we had pie. Everything is better with pie.
